Who we are

Who we are

Hello and welcome to our Blog. My name is Ian March and I am one of the founding Directors of Jellybeanstreet and new to the world of blogging.  I thought I would start off by telling you a bit about myself and my family.

While Jellybeanstreet was founded in Adelaide South Australia, I am Canadian born and moved to Australia in 2000.  I spent all of my childhood and much of my adulthood living on a magical Island off the coast of Canada, Newfoundland.   Newfoundland has some of the friendliest people in the world not to mention the best fish and chips anywhere (Ches’s Fish & Chips).  Newfoundland is also the place where Jelylbeanstreet got its’ name, from the colourful streets of downtown St.John’s.

I met my lovely wife Marisa March in Australia in 2002 and we now have two beautiful boys, Tyler and Jazz. My background is in software development and I have previously worked as a Software Architect and Information Technology Consultant for both corporate and government agencies.   When I am not working, I spend a lot of my time enjoying my passions, playing guitar and writing music and my new passion, practicing photography.

Last year I made the decision to leave the corporate world of IT and become a stay at home Dad and start a little business idea called Jellybeanstreet.  I feel truly blessed to be able to work from home and be surrounded by my beautiful children although it does have its challenges.  “Daddy Wipe My Bottom” is always a good ice breaker when I am in the middle of an important conference call, or taking a customer’s payment over the phone and letting out a loud yelp as I step on a pile of Lego blocks always goes down well.   I take my hat off to all the stay at home Moms and Dads who work from home and look after their children.  They are amongst the hardest working people you will ever meet.

If it wasn’t for my children, Jellybeanstreet would not exist.  Our precious children are the inspiration behind Jellybeanstreet.  To be able to create a business that gives back to our children and help charities for sick kids is truly rewarding.    We also continue to meet some of the most amazing children and parents at our finger painting workshops.  It is an honour to be have your beautiful children at our workshop and see them have so much fun.

We are so excited to have a group of amazing Creative Directors from around Australia to join our team and help us grow globally.  These parents share the same passion as we do for working with children and running a business that gives back to children’s charities.

Ian
